WELLNESS AND THERAPEUTIC Courts

Peter Boome has extensive experience working with wellness and therapeutic courts across Indian Country. His work focuses on developing and supporting court programs that address underlying issues such as substance use, mental health, and domestic violence, while promoting accountability and long-term change.

He has served as the presiding judge for Healing to Wellness Courts at both the Tulalip Tribes and the Nisqually Tribe, with Tulalip recognized as a National Mentor Court. Through this work, he has supported court participants in programs designed to create meaningful and lasting change.

At Nisqually, Peter established multiple therapeutic court programs, including Healing to Wellness, Mental Health, and Domestic Violence treatment courts. These programs were designed to respond to community needs while creating structured pathways for participants to move forward.

Peter also provides consultation and support to courts and organizations seeking to develop or strengthen therapeutic court programs, including program design, implementation, and ongoing support.
